My name is Fionnbharr Jones and I am a year 10 student on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, Australia. I would love the opportunity to work with a creative team on solving real world issues. I am an experienced traveler and would be ecstatic at the chance to work in different countries. I am a Sunshine Coast Council Ambassador, with the Sunshine Coast a top 7 intelligent community in the current (2019) Intelligent Communities Forum (ICF) Awards to be announced in New York in June.

Skills

Leadership: I have been a school leader since 2016 (Year 6). I am now the group secretary at Woombye Venture Scouts. In scouting, my unit and I have won many camping awards; judged on hygiene, cooking, campsite maintenance and teamwork. I have been involved in scouting since age 6 and now help lead the Woombye Cub Scout pack. I am also a Sunshine Coast Council Ambassador.

Team player: I have played rugby union since age 4 in North Brisbane transferring to the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2013, and have played for club and Chancellor State College in school team. Since 2016 I have played basketball for the University of the Sunshine Coast. At the age of 14 I competed at the state volleyball championships and placed 3rd. I am a member of highly successful school Robotics team – RoboRoyals since year 7.  I am also part of school and club drama groups.

Communication: I am an accomplished author and enjoy writing. I am a finalist in an ongoing writing competition. I enjoy and have won many public speaking competitions, I am very confident speaking to people I do not know. I am also an actor and have won two commendation awards in various acting competitions. I perform in the acting academy “Bytes”. I am often chosen by the school executive team to meet with and greet visiting VIPs to demonstrate school activities or tours of school facilities.

Technology: Capable user of Microsoft Office Suite, and have developed a website using HTML. National finalist in the 2017 National finals of the first robotic Lego league held at Macquarie University in Sydney where my team placed top five in Queensland and top 20th in Australia. National finalist in the 2018 National First robotic Lego League finishing first in Queensland and First in Australia. Representing Australia in World Robotic Lego League in Houston in April 2019. Experience of using electronic cash registers and Eftpos machines.

Perseverance: I always strive to be better and will always do the best of my ability. I have camped and hiked under extremely challenging conditions and completed activities with a positive can do attitude. I will make any experience as successful as it can be.

Trustworthiness: I am honest, can be trusted to work independently, and respect others and their property. I was trusted to complete a five-day unsupervised, and self-sustained hike with four scouting peers covering forty kilometers.

Life experience: I camp and hike extensively. Enjoy reading and writing short stories. I have traveled internationally on many occasions as I have family in the UK and Ireland. In 2017, my family and I completed a three month, around the World trip, visiting 12 countries. I started this year on an adventure with Scouts exploring North Island of New Zealand for 14 days.
