drink and drug driving simulator
The driving simulator built for the Driver Courtesy project was extended for use with head-mounted displays and to vary the driver reaction times and increases in the latency in steering. These provide the driver with an experience of drink and drug driving, and an understanding of how their driving performance would be impacted. By pressing the number keys the facilitator can increase the number of drinks, or types of drugs, ‘consumed’ in the simulated driving experience.
