The Smart Forests Alliance Queensland (SFAQ) developed world-leading biotechnology to accelerate production of fast growing trees suited to the forest plantation industry in tropical and subtropical agricultural environments, developed a range of new technologies and germplasms that have excellent prospects for export, and has also evaluated the risk of genetic pollution from these plantations into native forests and identified risk to plantations from climate change.
